sudofetch Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 26, 2026
This policy explains what personal information sudofetch, a sole proprietorship based in California ("sudofetch", "we", "us"), collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the sudofetch website, dashboard, API and MCP server (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
Account information. When you sign up, our authentication provider collects your email address and name, and any profile details from a social sign-in you use.
Billing information. When you buy credits, Stripe collects your payment details. We never see or store your full card number. From Stripe we receive your purchase history, billing country and payment status.
Request data. When you use the API, we record the URLs you request, request options, timing, results, errors, and the credits charged. We also store the content returned for each successful request, so that you can retrieve it.
API keys. We store a one-way hash of each API key, not the key itself.
Technical information. Our servers log IP addresses, user agents and request metadata to operate and secure the Service.
Communications. If you email us, we keep the messages and your contact details.
Cookies. We use cookies that are needed to sign you in and keep your session secure. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. [Update this if analytics are added.]
2. Personal data inside fetched pages
Pages you ask us to fetch may contain personal information about people who are not our customers. We process that content only to carry out the customer's request, on the customer's behalf. The customer decides what to fetch and is responsible for its lawful use. We do not build our own datasets from fetched pages.
If you are an individual and believe your data was fetched through the Service, contact support@sudofetch.com. We will delete any copy we still hold and can tell you which customer requested it where the law requires. We cannot remove information from the website that published it.
3. How we use information
We use it to:
- provide the Service, including running your requests, returning results and showing usage;
- process payments, prevent fraud and handle refunds and disputes;
- secure the Service, and detect and respond to abuse and Acceptable Use Policy violations;
- debug problems and improve reliability and performance;
- send service and billing messages, and notices about changes to our terms;
- comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use the URLs you request or the content we return to train machine-learning models.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with service providers who help us run the Service, under agreements that limit their use of it:

Every request passes the target URL to the browser provider that handles it, and that provider loads the page. We may also disclose information:
- when required by law or valid legal process;
- to investigate abuse or enforce our Terms, for example to identify to a website owner which account made requests against their site;
- to protect the rights, safety or property of sudofetch, our users or others;
- to a successor if sudofetch or its assets are transferred. Our planned transfer to a company we form to operate the Service is one example.
5. How long we keep it

You can delete a request's stored result before it expires through the API.
6. Your choices and rights
You can:
- view and update your account details in the dashboard;
- revoke API keys at any time;
- ask for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@sudofetch.com.
We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity, and we may keep information we are legally required to keep. Deleting your account permanently removes your account and any remaining credits.
California residents. We do not sell or share personal information as the CCPA defines those terms. We will not treat you differently for making a privacy request.
EU/UK residents. For your account data we are the controller, and our legal bases are performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in securing and improving the Service, and legal obligations. For personal data in pages you fetch, we act as your processor. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Our providers are based in the United States, and information may be transferred and processed there.
Do Not Track. Our Service does not respond to Do Not Track browser signals, because we do not track users across other websites.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS), hash API keys, and restrict access to production systems. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
9. Changes to this policy
We will post updates here with a new effective date. For material changes, we will notify you by email or in the dashboard before they take effect.
